Having obtained the particulars of a ships
oarge by these Harbour Master's Memoranda, the Clerks will then
attach them to the Import Manifest and check the entries to
ascertain that no consignment has been omitted. A summary
should then be made as followWB: »
If a vessel has brought cargo and taken
carge for moe than one port care must be taken to group the
goods under each port and under each kind of goods. The next
step is to add together all the items of the same kind of goods
coming from or shipped for the same port. Thus a series of
totals of each kind of goods is obtained. These totals are now
ready to be posted into the Returns Books under their respective
headings.
